These Terms and Conditions of Use (the "Terms") govern the use of the Corect.it platform (the "Service"), operated by Hermann von Marsoner, trading as Corect.it, Italy (the "Company").
1.2 Service Description
Corect.it is an AI-powered educational platform that provides automated grading assistance for academic assignments. The Service allows teachers to upload student work or enables students to submit assignments directly through a student dashboard, with AI-assisted evaluation and feedback generation.
1.3 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
1.4 Eligibility
The Service is intended exclusively for educational professionals, educational institutions, and students within authorized educational programs. Users must be at least 18 years old or have proper authorization from their educational institution.
2. SERVICE FEATURES AND FUNCTIONALITY
2.1 Core Features
The Platform provides the following functionalities:
a) Assignment Creation and Management: Teachers can create, configure, and organize academic assignments with instructions and grading rubrics
b) Assignment Sharing: Generate shareable links for assignments that students can access without registration
c) Student Submission Portal: Link-based access allowing students to view assignments and submit their work by providing required name and email information
d) Required Submission Information: Students must enter their name and email address to submit completed work to teacher dashboards
e) Multiple Submission Formats: Support for typed text, handwritten work, scanned documents, and file uploads
f) AI-Assisted Grading: Automated evaluation of submitted work using artificial intelligence
g) Feedback Generation: Creation of detailed feedback and suggestions for improvement
h) Grade Management: Recording, tracking, and export of grades and assessments in teacher dashboards
i) Optional Gmail Integration: Teachers may connect their Gmail accounts to send feedback emails directly to students
j) Analytics and Reporting: Performance analytics and progress tracking tools for educators
k) Integration Capabilities: API access and integration with learning management systems
2.2 Service Modifications
The Company reserves the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time, with or without notice, without incurring liability to Users.
3. USER ACCOUNTS AND REGISTRATION
3.1 Account Types
The Service offers the following account types:
● Teacher Accounts: For educational professionals and instructors who create and manage assignments
● Institution Accounts: For educational institutions and administrators managing multiple teacher accounts
● Student Access: Students access assignments via shared links without requiring account registration
3.2 Registration Requirements
For Teachers and Institutions: Users must provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration and maintain the accuracy of their account information. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials.
For Students: No registration or account creation is required. Students access assignments through shared links provided by their teachers. To submit completed work to the teacher dashboard, students must provide their name and email address, which they enter freely at the time of submission.
3.3 Account Security and Access
Teacher/Institution Accounts: Users must immediately notify the Company of any unauthorized access to their account. The Company is not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of User credentials.
Student Assignment Access:
● Assignment links are provided by teachers and should be treated as confidential
● Students should not share assignment links with unauthorized individuals
● The Company is not responsible for misuse of assignment links by third parties
3.4 Account Termination
The Company may suspend or terminate Teacher/Institution accounts at its sole discretion for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or misuse of the Service. Students are not subject to account termination as they do not maintain accounts.
5. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY
5.1 GDPR and Italian Law Compliance
The Company is committed to protecting personal data in accordance with:
● EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679
● Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (Personal Data Protection Code) as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018
● Other applicable Italian and EU data protection legislation
5.2 Student Data Protection - Enhanced Safeguards
Data Collection from Students:
a) Minimal Data Collection: Students are not required to create accounts. Data collection is limited to:
● Academic work submitted for grading (text, handwriting, uploaded files)
● Voluntarily provided name and email address at submission
● Technical data necessary for service functionality (IP address, browser type, submission timestamp)
b) Voluntary Information Provision:
● Students freely choose whether to provide their name and email
● No registration, passwords, or extensive personal data required
● Students can submit work anonymously if they prefer
c) Teacher Responsibilities: Teachers and institutions remain solely responsible for:
● Ensuring legal basis for collecting student submissions exists
● Obtaining parental consent for students under 16 years of age as required by GDPR Article 8
● Informing students about the AI grading system and data processing
● Ensuring assignment links are shared only with authorized students
● Compliance with educational privacy laws in their jurisdiction
d) Prohibited Data: The following data must never be included in assignments or submissions:
● Student ID numbers or personal identification codes
● Sensitive personal data about health, ethnicity, religion, or political views
● Contact information beyond the voluntary email provided at submission
● Any other personal data not directly related to the academic assignment
5.3 Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data based on the following legal grounds under GDPR Article 6:
● Legitimate Interest: Providing educational technology services
● Contract Performance: Fulfilling our service obligations to Users
● Legal Compliance: Meeting regulatory and tax obligations
● Consent: Where explicitly provided for specific processing activities
5.4 Data Processing Purposes
Personal data is processed exclusively for:
● Teacher Account Management: User authentication and service provision
● Assignment Delivery: Facilitating access to assignments via shared links
● Academic Assessment: AI-assisted grading of submitted student work
● Communication: Delivering feedback to students via provided email addresses
● Legal Compliance: Meeting regulatory, tax, and security obligations
● Payment Processing: Financial transactions through Stripe for teacher/institution subscriptions
5.5 Data Sharing and Transfers
● Payment Processing: Financial data is shared with Stripe Payments Europe Limited under their Data Processing Agreement
● No Student Data Sales: We never sell, rent, or commercialize student academic data
● Website Analytics: Anonymized website usage data is shared with Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) to improve our Service
● Optional Gmail Integration: When teachers choose to connect Gmail, limited access is granted solely for sending feedback emails to students
● Legal Requirements: Disclosure only when required by Italian or EU law
5.6 Data Subject Rights (GDPR Articles 15-22)
All data subjects have the following rights:
Information and Access Rights:

5.7 Data Retention and Deletion
Teacher/Institution Account Data:
● Account information retained for the duration of the account plus 7 years for tax/legal compliance
● Assignment templates and grading rubrics retained according to account settings
Student Submission Data:
● Academic work and submissions deleted within 30 days of assignment deletion or teacher request
● Student names and emails (required for submission) deleted immediately upon teacher request or when assignment is closed
● No permanent profiles or accounts created for students
● All student data purged when teacher account is closed
Enhanced Rights for Minors:
● Immediate deletion available upon request from student, parent, or teacher
● No tracking or profiling across multiple assignments
● Automatic purging of data when students reach majority if specifically requested
5.8 International Transfers
● EU/EEA Processing: Data is primarily processed within the EU/EEA
● Adequacy Decisions: Any transfers outside EU/EEA only to countries with adequacy decisions
● Safeguards: Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for any transfers requiring additional protection
5.9 Data Security Measures
Technical and organizational measures include:
● Regular security audits and penetration testing
● Staff training on data protection obligations
● Incident response procedures with 72-hour breach notification
5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
5.1 Platform Ownership
The Service, including all software, algorithms, interfaces, designs, and content, is the exclusive property of the Company and is protected by Italian and international intellectual property laws.
5.2 User Content Rights
Users retain ownership of their original content submitted to the Platform (assignments, student work, etc.). By using the Service, Users grant the Company a limited, non-exclusive license to process this content solely for service provision and improvement.
5.3 AI-Generated Content
Feedback, assessments, and suggestions generated by the AI system are considered derivative works. Users may use AI-generated content for educational purposes but may not redistribute or commercialize such content without written consent.
5.4 Prohibited Uses
Users may not:
● Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
● Use automated tools to access the Service beyond normal usage
● Copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from the Platform
● Remove or modify proprietary notices or labels
6. ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY
6.1 Permitted Use
The Service must be used solely for legitimate educational purposes in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws.
6.2 Teacher Responsibilities
Teachers and institutions using the Service must: a) Use the Service only for legitimate educational assessment purposes
b) Ensure assignment links are shared only with authorized students
c) Obtain necessary permissions before processing student data
d) Provide clear instructions to students about the AI grading system
e) Review and validate all AI-generated assessments before finalizing grades
f) Maintain confidentiality of student submissions and grades
g) If using Gmail integration, ensure compliance with institutional email policies and obtain appropriate permissions for sending feedback emails to students
6.3 Student Submission Guidelines
When accessing assignments and submitting work, students should: a) Only access assignments they are authorized to complete
b) Submit only their own original work unless collaboration is explicitly permitted
c) Provide accurate name and email information as required for submission
d) Understand that name and email are mandatory for work submission to teacher dashboards
e) Not attempt to circumvent or manipulate the AI grading system
f) Respect the academic integrity policies of their educational institution
6.4 Prohibited Conduct
All users may not: a) Upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, defamatory, or infringing
b) Violate any applicable laws or regulations
c) Transmit malware, viruses, or other harmful code
d) Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
e) Use the Service to facilitate academic dishonesty or cheating
f) Share assignment links with unauthorized individuals
g) Attempt to reverse-engineer or manipulate the AI grading algorithms
h) Engage in commercial activities unrelated to education
6.5 Content Standards
All content submitted must be appropriate for educational environments and must not contain:
● Discriminatory, harassing, or offensive material
● Confidential or proprietary information of third parties
● Content that violates privacy or publicity rights
● Copyrighted material without proper authorization
● Personal information beyond what is necessary for the assignment
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
7.1 AI Accuracy Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: The AI grading assistance is a tool to support educational assessment but does not replace professional judgment. Users acknowledge that:
● AI-generated assessments may contain errors or omissions
● Final grading decisions remain the sole responsibility of the educator
● The Company makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy of AI assessments
7.2 Limitation of Damages
To the maximum extent permitted by Italian law, the Company's liability is limited to the amount paid by the User for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim. The Company shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
7.3 Service Availability
The Company does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service operation. Users acknowledge that temporary service interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates, or technical issues.
7.4 Force Majeure
The Company is not liable for service interruptions caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, or network failures.
8. SUBSCRIPTION AND PAYMENT TERMS
8.1 Subscription Plans
The Service is offered through various subscription plans with different features and pricing. Current pricing and plan details are available on our website and clearly displayed before purchase.
8.2 Payment Processing
Payment Processor: All payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, an authorized payment institution regulated in Ireland. By using our Service, you agree to Stripe's Services Agreement and Privacy Policy.
Accepted Payment Methods: We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods supported by Stripe in Italy.
Payment Security: All payment information is processed securely using industry-standard encryption and tokenization. We do not store your complete payment card details on our servers.
8.3 Billing and Payment Terms
● Advance Billing: Subscriptions are billed in advance according to the selected plan
● Currency: All prices are displayed in Euros (EUR) and inclusive of applicable VAT
● Payment Due: Payment is due immediately upon subscription or renewal
● Failed Payments: Failed payments may result in service suspension after reasonable notice
● Invoicing: Electronic invoices will be provided in compliance with Italian e-invoicing requirements
8.4 Price Changes
Prices are subject to change with at least 30 days' advance written notice. Price increases will not affect your current subscription period if you have already paid for it.
8.5 Automatic Renewal
● Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew for successive periods of the same duration unless cancelled
● Cancellation Notice: You may cancel auto-renewal at any time through your account dashboard or by contacting customer support
● Effect of Cancellation: Cancellation prevents future renewals but does not affect your current subscription period
8.6 Refunds and Consumer Rights
For Consumer Users (Individual Teachers):
● 14-Day Right of Withdrawal: EU/Italian consumers have the right to withdraw from the subscription within 14 days of purchase without providing any reason
● Immediate Access Waiver: If you request immediate access to the Service, you acknowledge that you waive your right of withdrawal for the portion of services already provided
● Refund Processing: Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 14 days using the same payment method used for the original purchase
● Partial Refunds: For partial service periods, refunds will be calculated pro-rata
For Business/Institutional Users:
● Refunds are handled according to the specific terms of your institutional agreement
● Standard consumer withdrawal rights may not apply to B2B transactions
8.7 Taxes and Compliance
● VAT: All prices include applicable Italian VAT (IVA) where required
● Tax Documentation: Proper tax invoices will be provided for all transactions
● Compliance: All payment processing complies with Italian tax and regulatory requirements
9. INDEMNIFICATION
Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:
● User's violation of these Terms
● User's misuse of the Service
● Unauthorized use of User's account
● User's violation of applicable laws or third-party rights
10. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
10.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Italian law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
10.2 Dispute Resolution Process
Before initiating legal proceedings, parties must attempt to resolve disputes through good faith negotiations. If unsuccessful, disputes may be submitted to mediation in accordance with Italian Alternative Dispute Resolution procedures.
10.3 Jurisdiction
For any disputes that cannot be resolved through alternative methods, the Italian courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction, and Italian law shall govern these Terms.
11. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
11.1 Right to Modify
The Company reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or Platform notification at least 30 days before taking effect.
11.2 Acceptance of Changes
Continued use of the Service after modification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Users who do not accept modifications must discontinue use of the Service.
12. CONSUMER PROTECTION AND WITHDRAWAL RIGHTS
12.1 Right of Withdrawal (Diritto di Recesso)
For Individual Consumers Under Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005):
14-Day Withdrawal Period:
● You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason
● The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day of subscription activation
● You must inform us of your decision to withdraw through an unequivocal statement
Withdrawal Procedure:

● Use our standard withdrawal form (available on our website) or make your own clear statement
● Include your account details and date of subscription
12.2 Immediate Service Access and Waiver
Express Consent for Immediate Access:
● If you request immediate access to the Service before the 14-day period expires, you acknowledge that you waive your right of withdrawal for the portion of service already provided
● This waiver will be explicitly requested during the subscription process
● You cannot withdraw if you have already received and used the complete digital service with your prior express consent
12.3 Refund Process
Consumer Refunds:
● We will reimburse all payments within 14 days from receiving your withdrawal notice
● Refunds will be made using the same payment method you used for the original transaction
● No additional fees will be charged for the refund
Partial Service Refunds:
● If service has been partially provided with your consent, refunds will be calculated proportionally
● You will pay only for the portion of service provided until you withdrew
12.4 Exclusions from Withdrawal Right
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
● Customized educational content created specifically for your institution
● Services fully performed with your prior express consent and waiver of withdrawal rights
● Personalized AI training models created for your specific use case
12.5 Business and Institutional Users
B2B Transactions:
● Withdrawal rights may not apply to business-to-business transactions
● Institutional agreements may have separate cancellation terms
● Commercial users should review their specific contract terms
12.6 Legal Guarantee of Conformity
2-Year Legal Guarantee:
● Digital services must conform to the contract for 2 years from delivery
● Any lack of conformity appearing within 1 year is presumed to have existed at delivery
● You may request repair, replacement, price reduction, or contract termination for non-conforming services
12.7 Extended Consumer Protections
Italian Consumer Code Protections:
● Unfair contract terms are automatically void
● All pre-contractual information is binding
● Enhanced protection for distance contracts
● Right to compensation for damages caused by service defects
13.1 Termination by Company
The Company may terminate User access immediately for:
● Material breach of these Terms
● Fraudulent or illegal activity
● Misuse of the Service
● Extended inactivity
13.2 Termination by User
Users may terminate their accounts at any time through the Platform dashboard or by contacting customer support. Consumer withdrawal rights are governed by Section 12 above.
13.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
● User access to the Service immediately ceases
● User data is deleted according to our retention policy
● All licenses granted to Users terminate
● Outstanding payment obligations remain due
14. MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
14.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between Users and the Company regarding the Service.
14.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
14.3 Waiver
Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of such provision or any other provision.
14.4 Assignment
Users may not assign their rights or obligations under these Terms. The Company may assign these Terms without restriction.
14.5 Notices
Legal notices will be sent to the email address associated with User accounts. Users must maintain current contact information.
